This illustration was commissioned as cover art for a special edition of The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow. The novel is set in an alternate 19th century version of Salem, Massachusetts. With this illustration I wanted to capture the atmosphere of wonder and magic conveyed in the story.
