This fun virtual illustration class offers in-class character drawing skills and inspiration from weekly drawing prompts. Students will develop a portfolio of different drawings and hone their individual creative visual illustration style. Each week we will build on understanding character development and how illustrators use research for inspiration. The weekly assignments and art materials list are sent in an email. At the end of the series students will have experienced drawing different characters and story ideas. They will also have gained a fun experience talking about their illustrations with the group.

Participants will join Zoom with the art materials needed and their character research assignment to share.

SI Kids! Zoom classes are taught by professional picture book author / illustrator / instructor Clare Pernice. Art High School and College interns gain experience teaching a workshop throughout the program, as featured guests!

For ages 8 – 12 years old.
