Creating Comic Books with author & illustrator JOSE FRAGOSO
November 13 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
$10.00 – $15.00Children’s comic books and picture books are different: comics are longer and based on the characters, picture books are based on the story. They also have things in common, and one of them is that the evolution from creating picture books to comics is a very natural process for an author or an illustrator, who “grows up” with their readers. The comic book is the connection between picture books and narrative books.
Based on the comic book series OLIVIA WOLF, published in Europe and US by NubeOcho, we will learn the whole process of making a comic book series: from creating the main and secondary characters, a logo, writing the outline and the script, developing the story (80 page books), sketching, discussions with the publisher, how to keep the series interesting… We will learn everything about these books that children love and about a market that is growing really fast!
