I was commissioned by Barnes and Noble Co to create the illustrations for a Deluxe Collector’s edition of Jane Austen’s classic Pride and Prejudice. The art director wanted to me to incorporate a fashion sense to illustrate ten significant scenes of the novel which became double page spreads, chapter headings and various spots throughout the edition. As an admirer of Austen, I wanted to be respectful to the period, and yet, instill an elegant, modern spirit to a renown piece of literature.
