We are saddened to hear of the passing of beloved illustrator and author Ashley Bryan. His award-winning artistry brought stories of Black life, culture and folklore to life in such works as “Freedom Over Me,” “Beautiful Blackbird” and “Beat the Story-Drum, Pum-Pum”. His legacy leaves so much for us to enjoy and be inspired by for years to come.
