Society of Illustrators and Rockstar Games Offer New Zine Art Workshop for The NYPL’s Teen Reading Ambassadors Program
New York, NY (March 25, 2025) – The Society of Illustrators (SI) and Rockstar Games are pleased to offer a new Zine Art Workshop for participants in The New York Public Library (NYPL)’s Teen Reading Ambassadors Program on Friday, April 11, from 4-6 pm. This free-admission collaboratively designed course for 35 high school Ambassadors will be held at the Society’s Museum of Illustration located at 128 East 63rd Street.
The Zine Art Workshop will be led by award-winning children’s book illustrator Anna Raff (www.annaraff.com/), who will teach the Ambassadors how to create fanzine picture booklets that they in-turn will be able to teach to the younger students they mentor (https://www.nypl.org/remote-learning-resources/teen-reading-ambassadors). Free art supplies will be provided to all students thanks to funding from Rockstar Games, NYC DCLA Cultural Development Fund Grant, and NYSCA Support for Organizations Grant.
This course is the last offering in a three-part SI/Rockstar Games 2025 Spring Partnership Program series that began with two Will Eisner Week Comix Art Workshops led by Josh Neufeld (www.joshcomix.com/) on March 6 and 7, 2025 for 70 High School of Art & Design Cartooning Majors. Upon completion of the Spring Program, a total of 105 NYC Grades 9-12 students interested in pursuing art careers will have been served.
