Kristin Ostby Joins ‘The Original Art’ Team as Editorial Advisor

The Society of Illustrators is delighted to announce that Kristin Ostby has joined “The Original Art” team as Editorial Advisor. Kristin began her publishing career as a children’s book editor at Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, and since 2021 she has served as a literary agent at Greenhouse Literary Agency, where she represents picture book author/illustrators and authors of middle grade, young adult, and adult fiction.

Authors and artists Kristin has worked with include Tomie dePaola, recipient of an Original Art Lifetime Achievement Award, and Daniel Miyares, recipient of an Original Art Silver Medal for Bring Me a Rock; Patricia MacLachlan (The Moon’s Almost Here) and Heather Vogel Frederick (The Mother-Daughter Book Club); and bestselling creators such as Stuart Gibbs (Spy School), US soccer star Alex Morgan (The Kicks), and Debbie Levy and Elizabeth Baddeley (I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark).

We are grateful for the experience and expertise that Kristin will bring to “The Original Art,” as it continues to celebrate the fine art of children’s book illustration through exhibits and programs at The Society and at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
