The Hotel Lobby was created as part of a series of surreal works that follows the narrative of a set of strange entities as they navigate through an otherworldly city. Creation of this piece began with a rough thumbnail, which served as reference for the construction of a chipboard maquette. The final acrylic painting was completed using a photograph of the maquette and other collected references that helped bring the imagined scene into a painted reality.
