Akesi Martínez
Spanish feminism, 98 women generation
Medium: Mixed media: etching (hardground, soft ground and sugar lift) in combination with digital collage, and digital handmade techniques.

This work illustrates the “98 Spanish women generation” who contributed to Spanish feminism and women rights history, before and during the civil war period. Their invisibility through memory and history motivated a mixed media technique (digital collage and etching), where etching emphasizes the importance of bringing them alive, like a magical ritual which connects their personal storytelling with the creative process.
