A series of illustrations to accompany “Routine Maintenance,” a feature essay in praise of habit in an automated, algorithm-driven world. Each illustration is organized with the structure of gothic arches and shows a different character—the monk, the worker, the artist—engaged in routine. The time border element was repeated to create a border spanning the eight-page article.
