Requiem for the Supreme Court
Medium: Digital, Adobe Photoshop

When I was approached with this assignment, I wanted to capture how women in America were feeling rather than to show what happened narratively. This image of woman walking down the stairs of The Supreme Court was in my head, and she would walk towards the darkness, unsure of what the bleak future holds. Top of her body is blank, as if she had been erased, and bottom part of her body is covered by the darkness.
This artwork was prepared weeks before the overturn of Roe V. Wade. Although it was a great honor to have worked on this piece, part of me was wishing this piece did not have to be used.
