I had the pleasure (and the responsibility) to work on this book inspired by Alan Kurdi, the two-years old Syrian boy whose body was found on a Turkish shore. Alan and his family were on a boat looking for a better life. I made these illos using gentle lines (the childhood) and very deep black shapes (the death, the poverty, the difficulties). The images are surreal and dreamy, as well as the text, written by Gianluca Caporaso.
