Feed the Jackalope
Medium: digital; drawn with digital brush in Adobe Photoshop

The real-life origins of jackalopes are rabbits & hares suffering from deadly tumors, which render them unable to eat and cause starvation. Later, the myth was popularized by hunters in order to sell their dead hare carcasses grafted with deer antlers.
With this illustration I attempted to make a commentary on the romanticization & exploitation of illness, and convey the idea that we should care more about real individuals instead of some projected aesthetics.
