SATURDAY PICTURE BOOK SPOTLIGHT featuring OA Gold Medalist Beatrice Alemagna
November 16 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
$10.00 – $35.00Meet multi-award winning Italian author and illustrator, Beatrice Alemagna, with her acclaimed picture book Pepper and Me, published by Hippo Park. This enchanting and unexpected tale about a childhood mishap becomes the occasion for growth and self-reflection. A little girl falls on the street, scraping her knee and her father tells her not to worry, that “a beautiful scab will form.” But she does worry! The scab is not beautiful and it’s keeping her from bending her knee! When will it ever go away? By the time the scab—who she has named Pepper—falls off, something astonishing has happened! Beatrice will present a “behind the scenes” about how she became an author/illustrator, read her book, and share how she wrote and illustrated it. Participants will have fun creating colorful, unique illustrations related to the story and receive a copy of the book signed by Beatrice!
