Picture Book Spotlight with award winning illustrator C.G.Esperanza

Join us for a special Picture Book Spotlight led by award winning illustrator C.G.Esperanza. Young artists will learn all about how he became a picture book illustrator and author and he will share original art from his book My Daddy is a Cowboy written by Stephanie Seales. Followed by a book reading and an exciting workshop on the art of drawing horses in his vibrant style. 

All materials and a copy of the book are included!  Good for all ages 5 and up.

C.G.Esperanza is an Afro-Latino artist from the South Bronx, NYC. He is an award winning picture book illustrator and author. Most recently, He has received the 2025 Caldecott honor and Coretta Scott King illustrator awards for My Daddy is a Cowboy.  Charles is also a lead designer for exhibits at the Bronx Children’s museum which has been featured in the New York Times.
