LIVE in the studio with Daleen Roodt
November 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
As part of ASBA’s 27th Annual International, we’ll visit with South African artist Daleen Roodt in her studio. The one-hour session will allow 45 minutes of tour and presentation, and 15 minutes for a Q & A. Sessions can be viewed live or on demand for two weeks following live airing. Take a peek inside Daleen Roodt’s studio in South Africa, and learn more about how she got started as a botanical artist, what drives her work, and how she achieves her beautiful in situ watercolors. Follow her into the field as she captures wild orchids in their habitats, and learn what special accommodations she has to make in order to record the information she needs in her studies. Daleen’s work features pollinators associated with her botanical subjects and accurate information gathering for those is essential to tell a more complete story about the featured subject.
