Costumed Sketch Night at the Society

June 12 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$10.00 – $20.00

Artists of all skill levels are invited for figure drawing at the Society of Illustrators, hosted by A.E. Kieran. Models will be costumed.

For Pride month the theme is Feathers! Feathers! Feathers! We have Mae West-style feathered robes, feather boas, ostrich plume burlesque fans, and some major feathered showgirl headdresses on loan to us from Machine Dazzle
Per the Notes on Camp 1964 essay by Susan Sontag:
“Camp is a woman walking around in a dress made of three million feathers.”
The items will be modeled by cabaret artist Daphne Always and actor Jason Eddy.

Chairs and sketch boards will be provided, but artists should come prepared with their own art materials.

Guests are also invited to enjoy their favorite cocktail at our bar.

Please note, doors for this event will open at 6:00pm. No outside food or drink.

This event will take place on the third floor of the Society’s building and is only accessible via stairs. Bathrooms are also only accessible via stairs.
