Aviva Michaelov is the Digital Design Director of The New Yorker. Under her direction, The New Yorker was awarded a 2024 National Magazine Award for best illustrated story as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Illustrated Reporting and Commentary. Previously, she was the lead art director for The New York Times Opinion section, where her work was recognized by the Society of Illustrators and the Society of News Design. She has served as a juror for design and illustration awards, including those from American Illustration, the Society of Illustrators, and the Society of Publication Design. She holds a BFA from the Parsons School of Design and lives with her family in Brooklyn.
