Virtually meet the one and only… William Joyce from his studio in Louisiana! The Society of Illustrators is thrilled to present an exciting and fun hour with William Joyce who has achieved worldwide recognition as an author, artist and pioneer in the digital and animation industry. Bill has written and illustrated over 50 children’s books and novels which have been translated into over 40 languages. Join for a behind the scenes glimpse into his imaginative world, enjoy a reading from Santa Calls and follow a live drawing of his Snowman, Elf and a Dancing Christmas Tree!! A true luminary and creative spirit, William Joyce has put his personal stamp on children’s media in every direction. Awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award 2023, he has also garnered a Gold Medal and three Silver Medals for Original Art by The Society of Illustrators. His picture books include George Shrinks, Dinosaur Bob and Santa Calls; he has won three Emmy awards for his Rolie Polie Olie animated series; developed character concepts for Toy Story and A Bug’s Life; and his films include Robots and Meet the Robinsons, Rise of the Guardians for DREAMWORKS, and The Leaf Men, based on his books. In 2012, he won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. He lives in Shreveport, Louisiana, and is the founder of Howdybot Studios.
