Dumpling Fingers
Medium: Digital Illustration
This illustration was commissioned by Vittles UK to support an article by Jenny Lau on the significance of rice dumplings (Zongzi) in Chinese culture. It explores its history, folklore, and mythic tales; each with varying levels of outlandishness. The historical anecdote which I found most intriguing was that rice dumplings were once a popular offering food during a time of dragon-worship. I sought to bring this story to life with a bit of humor, resulting in a gluttonous dragon indulging in his bountiful offerings.
