Virtual Saturday Stories featuring Rebekah Lowell

Presented monthly, Saturday Stories invites guest illustrators to lead children and their adult companions in a read-aloud workshop related to the wide range of materials and processes that illustrators use to create their picture books. 

Join acclaimed author/illustrator Rebekah Lowell in a “Nature Journaling for Curious Minds” workshop after a storytime reading of her new picture book, Catching Flight: Soaring on the Wings of Birds. Nature Journaling is the art of paying attention. Discover a whole new way of thinking by creating pages in a nature journal using words and pictures based on your observations of the natural world. Using prompts like “I notice”, “I wonder”, and “It reminds me of ”, participants will learn how to get started in nature journaling and discover the joy and wonder of their own backyard. Recommended art materials are paper or unlined notebook/sketchbook, pencils, eraser, colored pencils, markers (optional) watercolor (optional) and a curious mind!
