Virtual Saturday Stories featuring Matt James

June 17 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Presented monthly, Saturday Stories invites guest illustrators to lead children and their adult companions in a read-aloud workshop related to the wide range of materials and processes that illustrators use to create their picture books.

Meet award winning, Canadian author and illustrator, Matt James! Matt will share how he works and what inspired him to write Tadpoles. He will give a fun tour of his art studio, showing some of the different tools and techniques that he uses to make a book.

Matt will then read Tadpoles and share a behind the scenes about the evolution of some of his favorite illustrations along with some pictures that didn’t end up in Tadpoles!

For the live workshop, participants can save some cereal boxes or Kleenex boxes to work on and use any handy art supplies to draw, and color with, such as colored pencils, crayons, paint.

Good for ages 5 and up!
