SATURDAY PICTURE BOOK SPOTLIGHT featuring author and illustrator Galia Bernstein

Meet Galia Bernstein for a behind the scenes of her inspiration for her latest book The Pumpernickel Daffodil about a misfit pup who faces his first competitive dog show. A heartwarming and hilarious picture book about family, friendship, and being yourself!

Galia will read her inspiring book and share how she creates her whimsical and ever so charming characters!  Participants will then join her for a hands-on, fun workshop – It’s the Build-A-Dog Barkshop!

Dogs come in all shapes, colors and sizes. Make and decorate your very own 4 legged friend! Choose a head, ear and tail shape to build a one of a kind, free standing 3D dog! The pawssibilities are endless!

All materials are included. Good for ages 5 and up.

$35 includes admission and workshop (including signed book and art supplies) for 1 adult + 1 child.  One book per family. Additional siblings are $10/each. 

Galia Bernstein was born and raised in Israel and started her career as a designer and illustrator for the Israeli Army’s magazine. She later moved to New York to study illustration at Parsons. She is the author-illustrator of the picture books I Am a Cat, Leyla and The Pumpernickel Daffodil and the illustrator of many more. Find out more: www.dancingkangaroo.com

Her books won international acclaim and were published in 15 languages.

Galia lives in Brooklyn.
