Virtual Saturday Stories: Monthly illustrator-led workshops for children & families: Featured Artist Libby VanderPloeg

April 17, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Presented monthly, Saturday Stories invites guest illustrators to lead children and their adult companions in a read-aloud and hands-on workshop related to the wide range of materials and processes that illustrators use to create their picture books.

Join, acclaimed illustrator Libby VanderPloeg for an exciting workshop and reading of Brooklyn Bailey, The Missing Dog. Libby will share her approach to creating fun, colorful maps and then show participants how to make a map of their own that highlights one of their favorite places. For this workshop, participants will need: markers, colorful paper scraps (or construction paper), scissors, one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper (any color or white), and a glue stick. Good for all ages 5 and up!

This program is free to attend. Thank you to The Bruce J.Heim Foundation for supporting this event. Their generous gift and belief that books play a vital role in the development of a child’s imagination and dreams greatly aids our educational programming for K-12 students.
