Presented monthly, Saturday Stories invites guest illustrators to lead children and their adult companions in a read-aloud and hands-on workshop related to the wide range of materials and processes that illustrators use to create their picture books.
Join Award Winning Artist/Illustrator Frank Morrison for a behind the scenes look at his creative process, referencing the dynamic illustrations from one of his latest books Respect, Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul. Frank will showcase in a live demonstration, his graffiti art, technique, inspiration, influences, use of words, color and themes. Participants are invited to draw along using any drawing and coloring materials that they have on hand. Suggested materials list and a printable coloring page can be found on the registration page.
