Presented monthly, Saturday Stories invites guest illustrators to lead children and their adult companions in a read-aloud and hands-on workshop related to the wide range of materials and processes that illustrators use to create their picture books.
Virtually meet acclaimed illustrator Victoria Tentler- Krylov as she reads and shows how she illustrated her latest book Cyclops of New York. Cyclops shows readers to be brave and explore the world because, really, you never know what you might find! Victoria will talk about developing the character of Cyclops, his sheep family, and the most adventurous sheep of all – Eugene! She will also explain how she made the City of New York a character in the book,too. Victoria will follow her presentation with a drawing workshop inspired by the book. For all ages 5 and up. Participants will need drawing paper, pencils or markers, and watercolor paints and brushes.
