Award winning author and illustrator, Laura Vaccaro Seeger will present how she creates her beautiful picture books, followed by a reading and workshop based on her latest book Red the companion to her Caldecott Honor Book Green and highly acclaimed Blue. Color cleverly evokes emotion with ingenious die-cuts that propel the eye from page to page, making for a powerful conclusion to a rich and satisfying trilogy. Participants will be guided through the process of creating a two-line poem about their chosen color. Then two art spreads will be planned, sketched, and created using the concept of interconnectivity through theme.
