Illustrators 64: Editorial and Book categories
March 9 - May 7
The Museum of Illustration at the Society of Illustrators is proud to present Illustrators 64, an annual exhibit featuring the most outstanding works of the year by leading contemporary illustrators worldwide. Voted on by a prestigious international jury of renowned illustrators, art directors, and designers, the Annual provides a platform to our global community to express, through illustration, the events and movements of our times. In a year of numerous challenges, documented through artists’ visual narratives, the Annual has become an important archive and reflection of recent history.
The Annual is broken up into two shows. Part Two features work in the Book and Editorial categories. Gold and silver medals were awarded by the jury to the top pieces in each category.
Following health and safety guidelines, the Society voting process moved to an entirely virtual platform, enabling the Society to involve many new voices from all over the world. To allow for a more international viewing opportunity, the Society is pleased to host this year’s exhibit both on-site as well as online. To view the on-site exhibit, guests must plan ahead and refer to SI’s safety measures prior to arriving at the Museum. Tickets may be purchased online, however walk-ins are also available. Part One of the Annual will be on display from January 7 through February 12, 2022. Part Two will be on display February 16 through March 19, 2022. The online gallery will be posted in January and will remain online for the year. Tickets must be purchased to view the gallery while it is also on display at the Museum. Entry to both the on-site and online gallery are free for Society of Illustrator Members. Please visit the exhibit pages for more information.
An Awards Ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 6th. A limited number of tickets are available to Artists in the show. The Society will continue to monitor the situation and send details to Artists in the show. More information will be posted leading up to the event.
