To celebrate our return, and in preparation of the MoCCA Arts Festival, the Society present an Instagram Takeover series! For one hour illustrators and comic artists will take over our Instagram account and share art demos, provide studio tours and answer questions live.

During this live session, Derf Backderf, the bestselling author of My Friend Dahmer and Trashed will discuss some of his artwork/process and do a live drawing demonstration.

Visit Derf at MoCCA Arts Festival! He will be signing at the ABRAMS table (A 099) on Saturday from 11am – 2pm; 4pm – 5pm and on Sunday from 11am – 2pm. Derf is also on a panel with Karen Green on Saturday at 2:30PM (“Derf Spotlight: Four Dead in Ohio”) discussing his 2021 Will Eisner Award winning book, Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio, the tragic and unforgettable story of the Kent State shootings​.

About the MoCCA Arts Festival:

The Fest will take place April 2 – 3, 2022 from 11:00AM – 7:00PM on Saturday and 11:00AM – 6:00PM on Sunday. Now located in a new, modern and spacious venue, Metropolitan Pavilion’s large floor plan and high ceilings provides a bright and well-ventilated space for all guests at the Fest. Located at 125 W 18th Street, Met Pavilion is nestled in the heart of the Chelsea neighborhood, and is within walking distance to many great restaurants and attractions. Programming will be a few steps away at the SVA Flatiron Gallery, located at 133 West 21st Street.
