Character Scavenger Hunt and Draw
Each week we will build on understanding character development and how illustrators use research for inspiration. The weekly assignments and art materials list will be sent in an email. At the end of each series students will have built a portfolio of different characters and story ideas. They will also have gained a fun experience talking about their characters with the group.
Participants will join class via Zoom with the art materials needed and their character research assignment to share.
The assignment will be to research 5 characters – looking in books at home and around their home to find them. They will draw their version of the characters to share in class.
Part 1. Class will start with a show and tell. Everyone will hold up what they found together, followed by the drawing they did.
Part 2. With a live drawing and coloring demonstartion participants will watch Clare create a new character. Students will also draw their own versions in class.
How to register:
Click on the button “Buy Tickets” to submit payment. Once payment is received, an email will be sent to you containing the log in information for the zoom meeting. Students must have a (free) zoom account to participate.
