Honors

Each year, the Society of Illustrators recognizes the top achievements within the field of illustration. These encompass all genres, every medium and every ranges of practitioner, from students all the way up to lifetime members.
ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Any illustration created or initially published between the announced dates that has not been accepted in the Annual previously, is eligible. International entries are welcome. Each submission will receive consideration by every member of the jury for its category.

STUDENTS
Through an annual juried exhibition for college-level art students only, cash awards are given to selected students. Chairmen of college-level art programs should request, on school letterhead, the "Call for Entries" for the Student Scholarship Competition. Deadline to enter is approximately February 1.

HALL OF FAME
Since 1958, the Society of Illustrators has elected to it's Hall of Fame artists recognized for their "distinguished achievement in the art of illustration." The list of winners is truly a "Who's Who" of illustration. Former Presidents of the Society meet annually to elect those who will be so honored

THE ORIGINAL ART
The Society of Illustrators invites all publishers and artists in the Children’s Book field to submit to the “The Original Art.” Founded by Dilys Evans in 1980 to “Celebrate the Fine Art of Children’s Book Illustration,” this exhibition has been sponsored by the Society of Illustrators for the past 15 years.
DISTINGUISHED EDUCATOR
The Distinguished Educator has attained the highest standards of academic achievement and has demonstrated interest in and capability of furthering the Society’s educational programs.

THE HAMILTON KING AWARD
Awarded annually in conjunction with the Illustrators Hall of Fame.
OUR OWN SHOW
This exhibition was founded by Ned Glattauer and George Wilson. Their contributions of time and effort helped this initial experiment grow into a respected annual event at the Society. They had always felt that an open exhibition for Society members would benefit both the Society and its members, so they promoted the idea that, even in an open exhibition, artistic excellence should be recognized.
